CombeRAM (June 17, 2006): Well, there is so much old RAM that wasn't going anywhere, so I used one as a keychain.  Then, I thought that a comb would be really sick to have.  So here it is. And it works suprisingly well!

Homemade Water Balloon Launcher (June 26, 2006):  I was in my attic and found this exercise thingy with two handles and rubber tubing connecting them.  I immediately thought of making it into a lancher.  The duct tape holder didn't work, but I found a funnel, which worked much better.  A few cuts, some spray paint, a rope pull, and it was done.  Vids will be up later, as soon as I find a .mov to .avi converter.

Update (July 10, 2006): The vid is up.

USB Connector on Xbox Controller(July 3, 2006):  This mod is great because it allows you to save games on a flash drive or use a USB keyboard and mouse if you have Linux on your Xbox (which I plan to do).  Basically, you solder onto the pins of the Xbox memory card slot.  I based my project off of this one, but I didn't want to go out and buy a memory card.  Instead, I cracked open my controller (and while it was open I spray painted it WITH gloss this time, so it will stay) and soldered in there.  The pinout for the other one had to be reversed because I was soldering onto the slot, not the memory card.

One problem with this was that I already had an LED in there, so it's kinda tight.  But other than that, it works great! Now for more pics:

The back of the controller.

A USB light plugged into the controller (which is plugged into my laptop).

DIY Lab Power Supply (December 16, 2006): Well, I've seen this posted and it seemed easy enough, so I made my own lab power supply from an old ATX computer power supply.  Check out my blog entry for the full read, and look below for some teaser pics.

Hacker T-Shirt (January 1, 2007): Not really a mod or hack per se, but very cool nonetheless. This shirt defines what a hacker truly is.

Reads "Hack-er (hak-er) n. 1. A person who enjoys exploring the details of programmable systems & how to stretch their capabilities, as opposed to most users, who prefer to learn only the bare minimum necessary. 2. One who enjoys the intellectual challenge of creatively overcoming or circumventing limitations.”

Computer Lab Power Supply (January 3, 2007): A simple-ish mod akin to the DIY lab power supply, except stright from your computer while running. Check out the blog read for the full analysis.

Nickel Ring (January 13, 2007): This was such a simple and fun thing to do it just had to be done. And so it was.
